Pittsburg State volleyball played at home on Friday, Oct. 30 against the University of Central Oklahoma, and again on Saturday, Oct. 31 against Newman University.

The gorillas lost to UCO after a difficult four-set game but were able to redeem themselves on the court with a victory over Newman the next day.

Coming from a loss in Springfield against Drury, the gorillas were back at home to face the University of Central Oklahoma.

The ladies struggled throughout four sets against the bronchos, losing the first two sets by 15+ points, then winning the third set by ten points, and finally losing the fourth set by three points.

Following their loss against UCO, the gorillas competed the next day against the Newman jets.

The gorillas had previously competed against Newman this season in Wichita on Oct. 17, defeating them on their own court. Less than two weeks later when facing them at home, the gorillas once again emerged victorious over the Jets.

This gorilla victory over the Newman Jets was Pitt State volleyball’s first season with twenty wins since 2009.

This 2026 season has been one of ups and downs for the Pittsburg State volleyball team. Despite some tough losses, the gorillas hold a positive record of 20-8 and have had a successful season thus far.
