In the spirit of quick, affordable, and satisfying meals, students can now enjoy a dorm-style hibachi recipe that brings the flavors of a Japanese steakhouse to their own kitchen.

(Serves 2–3)

Ingredients:
Proteins:
½ chicken breast, diced
½ steak (sirloin or any thin cut), sliced into strips
½ cup shrimp (peeled & deveined)
2 tbsp soy sauce
Butter for cooking

 Salt, pepper, garlic powder

Fried Rice:

1 tbsp butter
2 cups cooked rice (day-old is best)
1 egg
1 tbsp soy sauce

Yum Yum Sauce:
2 tbsp mayo
1 tsp ketchup
½ tsp sugar
Dash of garlic powder
A few drops of vinegar or lemon juice

Instructions:
1. Prep the proteins: Season chicken, steak, and shrimp separately with soy sauce, butter, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Heat a pan over medium-high heat. Cook chicken until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside. Cook steak strips until browned (about 2–3 minutes). Remove and set aside. Cook shrimp until pink and opaque (about 1–2 minutes per side). Remove and set aside.

2. Fried rice: In the same pan used for the proteins, add butter and fry the rice then put it to the side, crack in the egg, scramble it, then mix everything together. Add soy sauce, stir-fry until heated through.

3. Combine: Add all cooked proteins back into the pan with the rice. Stir and heat through.

4. Yum Yum Sauce: Mix all sauce ingredients in a small bowl and drizzle over the top or serve on the side.

Tips:
Use pre-cooked rice packs and frozen shrimp for convenience.
You can cook everything in one pan, just in stages.
Add a splash of teriyaki or sriracha for extra flavor.
