Solar energy awareness brought to campus

The Climate and Energy Project teamed up with Pittsburg State University and the City of Pittsburg to host two free events that took place in the Bicknell Center on Oct. 30.  The first event was a luncheon/workshop where Jeremy Johnson, mayor of Pittsburg, Scott White of Cromwell Solar, James Triplett of the PSU Sustainability Program, Jay Byers, deputy city manager, and Jessica Lucas of  the Clean Energy Business Council all spoke about the different perspectives on solar energy in Kansas.

The second event was a film screening of “Happening: A Clean Energy Revolution”, followed by a panel discussion, as well as an appearance by Monica Murnan of the Kansas state legislature.
