Essential oils have many benefits to health. There is almost an oil for everything you can imagine and many essential oils have more than one benefit. Over the summer, I went into my regular nail salon for a full set. Each time I go, there would be an oil they would put on my cuticle that always smelled so good. I asked them what it was they put on my hand and it was pineapple oil. This was the first time I had even heard of pineapple oil, so of course I did some research on it. Pineapple is packed with vitamin C, making the concentrated oil packed with it as well, which gave me a chance to I pick up four benefits to share.
- The oil can strengthen skin, hair, and nails; it has a great way to prevent scalp damage from its moisturizing properties. This can also act as a tool to prevent lice and itchy scalp. These are some of many reasons why some nail salons, like mine, use it on cuticles as well as faces after waxing. Acrylic and other chemicals on your nails can damage not only your nails but the skin around the fingernails as well. Because of this, the pineapple oil is a great way to strengthen those nails and skin.
- Pineapple oil is good for preventing illness and can even help blood flow in the body. When the body has sufficient blood flow, oxygen filled blood flows through our body to improve function and reduce inflammation in the muscles. I don’t know about you, but this always sounds like a good thing to me.
- It’s an anti-aging agent. It is not only moisturizing, but the vitamin C in pineapple oil enhances the body’s ability to build collagen, the acclaimed key to eternal youth. So no need for collegian injections when you have good ‘ol pineapple oil.
- It smells great! The smell has a softer and sweeter smell than the actual fruit, so it already smells like a perfume. The oil also is not as acidic as the fruit, so it is safe for skin without the worry of citrus burns. Because it is an oil, it will stick to the skin and keep its smells a little while longer than a standard perfume would. It’s not common for this oil to be used as a perfume, however it is an option that has a super delicious smell.
Although pineapple oil has a large amount of healing agents due to the vitamin C, there are other benefits and vitamins such as vitamin B-6 and potassium. B-6 is also a metabolism activator and helps with other chemical compounds in the body that help with gene expression. Potassium is good for upkeep of chemicals in the body, in turn keeping blood pressure low as well as stress on the body. There are many more benefits to pineapple oil, as well as other essential oils. Do yourself a favor and look into them to get a look at what they can do for you.
