A bill to amend the constitution (adopted):
There is currently no rule prohibiting the reinstatement as a member of the Student Government Association after impeachment or resignation. A stricter process is needed to help the election process. This rule is in place at other regent schools. This will help with organization retention rate. Therefore, the Student Government Association assembled that they accept the recommendation to adopt a policy prohibiting the reinstatement as a member of the Student Government Association after impeachment or resignation for a full semester after their resignation or impeachment into the Election Board guidelines each year.
Resolution 1927: Approving the fee movement of apple day, college bowl, family day, Greek leadership council, and homecoming into the union programming fee (Adopted):
Apple Day, College Bowl, Family Day, Greek Leadership Council, and Homecoming are currently housed under the Student Activity Fee. Better allocation and placement of these could be made and President George, Vice President Holman, and Treasurer Brenner have met with Advisor Sager and Dr. Erwin to discuss this move and the interworking’s of student fees. It is the Student Government Association’s job to make sure students can properly understand where money is being allocated and spent. Therefore, the Student Government Association assembled that they hereby move an estimated $38,200.00 dollars into the Union Programing fee under the Campus Activities Center line item, effective FY2021.
Resolution 1928: Approving the fee movement of campus recreation intramurals fee to the campus recreation operating fee (Adopted):
Funding for Campus Recreation Intramurals is currently under the Student Activity Fee and better allocation and placement of this fee could be made. President George, Vice President Holman, and Treasurer Brenner have met with Advisor Sager and Dr. Erwin to discuss this move and the interworking of student fees. It is the Student Government Association’s job to make sure students can properly understand where money is being allocated and spent. Therefore, the Student Government Association assembled that we hereby move an estimated $54,150.00 into the Campus Recreation Operating fee, effective FY2021.
Resolution 1929: Approving the establishment of a constitutional review committee (Adopted):
The constitution states in Article 3, Section 6, Subsection H, that the president can establish ad hoc committees, as needed, for the organization. The current constitution has been amended the past 5 years which has created inconsistencies, errors, and confusion. The Student Government Association is currently operating inefficiently due to the current constitution. Therefore, the Student Government Association assembled that they hereby establish an ad hoc committee that will be comprised of 10 Senators, with President George as chair and Advisor Sager serving in the advisor compacity and that the completion date of this constitutional review be done by the next scheduled election.
