| Caitlin Martin reporter | Families and Gorilla pride flooded the city of Pittsburg on Saturday, Sept. 27, for Pittsburg State University’s annual Family Day. Pitt State students’ families were invited to attend a variety of events. The first event of the day was the Bryant Student Health Center’s “Run For Your Life Fun Run/Walk,” which began at 8 a.m. at the health center. After the run, or after sleeping in, “Brunch with the President,” began at 10 a.m. in Russ Hall outside the President’s Office. | Caitlin Martin reporter | On Saturday, Sept. 27, Pittsburg State University will host its annual Family Day festivities. The university invites families of all students to campus for a variety of events, including a 5K, giveaways, lunches and of course, a Gorilla football game. “I think it’s important that the families can come down and see where we go to school and how everything works and our home away from home,” said Kendal Stark, junior in communication. Annual event continues to grow Logan Qualls | reporter The brilliance of the shining sun was matched by the smiles of students and their families for the annual Family Weekend celebrations at Pittsburg State University on Saturday, Sept. 21. PSU held a number of events welcoming families, including a brunch at 10 a.m. with Steve Scott, president, in the Crimson and Gold Ballroom. Campus orgs. contribute to Family Day Jay Benedict | Editor-in-Chief This weekend, PSU will celebrate the annual Family Weekend. This year’s events begin Friday evening and continue across campus until the Gorilla football team kicks off against Lincoln. Family Weekend begins with Game Night at Axe Library on Friday. The event is sponsored by the International Programs and Services department, the Campus Activities Center (CAC), the Office of Student Diversity (OSD) and the library.
