Blue Valley Alumni Support

Pittsburg State students who are alumni of Blue Valley High School of Overland Park gather in front of Russ Hall on Thursday, April 17, in support of Blue Valley High senior Alex Fraser and freshman Reat Underwood.
Fraser was paralyzed in a surfing accident in March while he was on spring break. On April 13, Underwood, 14, was killed in a shooting at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City in Overland Park. His grandfather, Dr. William Corporon, 69, who had worked as a physician at Via Christi Health in Pittsburg, was also killed.

Blue Valley alumni show their support for the school and the students dealing with the loss of a fellow classmate that was shot in the JCC shooting.

F. Glenn Miller, aka Frazier Glenn Cross, was later arrested for those killings and for another the same day; Terri LaManno, 53, was killed at the Village Shalom assisted-livng community, also in Overland Park.
Miller, a white supremacist, reportedly committed the shootings in an attempt to target Jews, but none of the victims was Jewish.
He has been charged with first-degree murder and capital murder; additional federal charges are pending.
