80 businesses to attend Fall Expo

More than 80 employers and organizations are registered to make an appearance for this year’s Fall Career Expo at 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, in the Crimson and Gold Ballroom. Students are encouraged to dress in business casual.
The annual event brings potential employers to campus to interact and network with students. Business and students alike hope for future benefitting relationships: new hires for the businesses and employment for students.
The Expo is open to students of all majors and classifications.
“It gives students a chance to network with a wide variety of organizations,” said David Hogard, assistant director for employer relations.
Though the event is geared toward upperclassmen finding employment, underclassmen may benefit by making connections with the businesses.
Hogard says it’s a good idea for underclassmen to get used to the atmosphere, and the companies that attend do so each year.
“They continually talk about how impressed they are by the work ethic of our students,” he said.
Students interested in attending can get more information about the Expo and preparation tools and guides online at the Career Services website. Registration for attending the Expo must be done by contacting the Career Services office.
