Deadline nears for scholarship applications
The PSU Online Scholarship Application for schoolwide and departmental scholarships is due Friday, Feb. 1. From the PSU homepage, click Affordability, then Scholarships.
Cow Creek Review submissions due
Students wishing to submit fiction, poetry or creative nonfiction must have their entries submitted to email@example.com by Friday, Jan. 25. Photographed artwork must be submitted by Monday, Feb. 11.
Art for magazine to be photographed
The Art Department will be photographing artwork for the Cow Creek Review on Tuesday, Feb. 5. Artwork to be submitted to the Cow Creek Review must be turned in to the art office with a name and e-mail attached to the piece. The image will be e-mailed, and artwork may be picked up when finished.
Etiquette Dinner planned Feb. 7
Career Services’ “More than Manners” etiquette dinner will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, in the Crimson and Gold Ballroom. Submission fee of $10 must be made online or by cash/check by noon Thursday, Jan. 31, to the Career Services Office in Horace Mann Hall.
Movie treat night
“Pitch Perfect” will be shown at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, in 109 Grubbs Hall.
Hunger Banquet scheduled Jan. 28
Alpha Phi Omega is presenting a Hunger Banquet at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28. Those attending must bring either $1 or a canned good.
Jan. 28 final day to drop course
The final day to drop a course without transcript notation is Jan. 28.
R.A. info night scheduled Jan. 30
This is the final opportunity for students considering applying to be a University Housing resident assistant for the 2013-2014 school year. Application process and all paperwork are due Friday, Feb. 1.
Dellinger Hall to present ‘Gold Digger’
Dellinger Hall will present the all-hall program of “Gold Diggers” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, in the Dellinger Underground. It will be an informational program about the 1849 California Gold Rush, including a treasure hunt for prizes.
Crimson Commons to present ‘dream night’
Crimson Commons, PSU’s suite-style dorm, will present an all-hall program of “I Have a Dream” to residents at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24. Those who attend will be able to make a dream board, discuss goals and aspirations and finding what matters most in life.
Tanner presents ‘Jeopardy’ game
Tanner Hall will present an all-hall program of “Jeopardy” to residents at 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24.
Nation to present ‘Giant Memory’
Nation Hall will present the all-hall program of “Giant Memory” as a board game at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24.
Willard to present ‘Laundry for Dummies’
Willard Hall will present an all-hall program of “Laundry for Dummies” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24.
Leadership workshop free to students
Students are invited by the Presidential Emerging Leaders Program to attend the Basic Leadership Conference in the Overman Student Center on Feb. 16. Registration is due to the Campus Activities Center office by 4:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25.
Academic success workshop
“Build Your Personal Strategy for a Great Semester” will be presented to students from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, in 301 Russ Hall. Those who attend will be entered to win door prizes.
Open Mic Night scheduled Jan. 29
Students are invited to the U-Club at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, to showcase their talents in singing, comedy or instrumental for a chance to win $100, selected by the audience.
