Wiping the slate clean for 2012 Jessica Sewing | Collegio Reporter With a new court, the PSU women’s volleyball team sees an opportunity to re-establish the program. The new court took three months to complete and was funded solely by donations from PSU alumni Allan and Roberta Wetzel. Before the remodel, the volleyball and basketball court in the Weede had an indoor track surface with a wooden area in the center for games. Jay Benedict | Editor-in-Chief Head coach Tim Beck and the Pittsburg State Gorilla football coaching staff held the third annual Ladies Night at the Pitt on Saturday, Aug. 18. The attendees met with the coaches in Grubbs Hall for “Football 101” before heading to Carnie Smith Stadium for a social hour and to watch the PSU football team scrimmage. After registering in Grubbs, names were drawn and participants won gift baskets and other prizes. Following the drawings, the “Football 101” presentation began. The Gorilla coaching staff showed the women a PowerPoint presentation to illustrate football basics, like positions and tactics.
