Jen Rainey | Collegio Reporter Students gathered around Lindburg Plaza on Monday, April 30, to participate in the annual Spring Fling. According to James Smith, Student Activities Council representative, there were between 800-1,000 students at the event, which consisted of a variety of entertainment and inflatables for students to enjoy. The entertainment consisted of Deck 2, Erika Lynn, Logan Grider and Brandon Smith, all acoustic acts. “We sent an email to open mic night winners from the past year and these were the first to respond,” said Smith, senior in commercial graphics. 61 Syxteknique, a national break dancing group, was also on hand to entertain students on the main stage. ‘Misfits’ shines for all audiences

Todd Miller | Collegio Reporter One of the best things about sifting through many dull or terrible movies throughout a year is uncovering the buried treasure that is a fantastically made movie. “The Pirates! Band of Misfits” is one such movie. I didn’t know what to make of the movie before I saw it, but I was glad I did afterwards. “The Pirates! Band of Misfits” is based on the book “The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists,” and the movie shares the book’s title in its UK release. The film centers on a pirate crew led by the Pirate Captain (Hugh Grant). Nothing special about this ‘Engagement’

Carl J. Bachus | Collegio Writer “The Five-Year Engagement” doesn’t work. It has lots of potential, but never completely lives up to it. That said, the film is very funny and, despite its shortcomings, leaves you in good spirits. “Engagement” stars Jason Segel (“How I Met Your Mother”) and Emily Blunt (“The Devil Wears Prada”) as newly engaged couple Violet and Tom. Violet, a psychology Ph.D. graduate, agrees to marry Tom who is an aspiring chef. She soon receives a job offer to teach halfway across the country.
