Spirit squad tryouts April 28-29

Tryouts for the PSU Spirit Squad for the 2012-2013 academic year will be Saturday, April 28, and Sunday, April 29. The team is looking for athletes, tumblers and people with a passion for PSU athletics. Previous cheer experience is not required. Gorilla Dash Saturday

The Gorilla Dash 5K obstacle course will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 28. To register, go to psugorilladash.com or stop by the PSU ticket office.

Fish fry Friday

The PSU Justice Studies Student Association is planning a fish fry from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, April 28, at the Columbus Community Center on East Maple in Columbus. Tickets are a donation of $8 and can be purchased from JSSA members or Roy Janisch at 235-4346. Tickets can also be purchased at the door. Proceeds will benefit the JSSA club and the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Jungletron movie ‘Happy Feet’

The Office of Alumni and Constituent Relations will be showing “Happy Feet 2” at 7 p.m. Friday, April 27, on the Carnie Smith Stadium Jungletron. The movie is free to everyone. Children must be supervised by an adult. No food or chairs are allowed on the field and no coolers or alcohol are permitted. Food and drink will be allowed in the stands and concessions will be available.

Rock the Vote Friday

Play beginning Thursday

The PSU Theater is presenting the play “Dead Man Walking” at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday, April 28, and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 29, in the Grubbs Studio Theater. Tickets are free for PSU students and faculty, $10 for the general public, and $6 for those under 17 or over 65 years of age. The play is for mature audiences. For reservations or group rates, call the PSU Ticket Office at 235-4796.

 Car show Saturday

The Society of Automotive Engineers is having a car show from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at the Kansas Technology Center. Registration for cars entering the show is $10 and will be in the parking lot on the north side of the KTC. Admission is free to the public. Raffle tickets will also be sold. Night Walk Saturday

A Night Walk to shed light on the missing is scheduled for Saturday, April 28. The walk is in memory of former PSU student Joshua Hancock and will benefit the CUE Center for Missing Persons.
