Duck Soup tournament

The Kansas Association of Nursing Students is having a Duck Soup co-ed softball tournament Saturday, March 10. Registration is $150 for teams of 10-12 that are exactly half girls and half boys. For more information or to register a team, call A.J. Terry at 249-2870 or Megan Stahl at 316-284-4180.

PSU choirs perform March 9

The Pittsburg State University choirs will present their annual spring concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 9, in McCray Recital Hall on the PSU campus. The concert is free.
The University Choir, PSU Chorale, Jazz Choir and Women’s Choir will all be under the direction of Susan Marchant. Dongyuan Chen will serve as pianist for the program, and instrumental soloists will include Julie Penner, flute, and Kyle George, clarinet.
The program will include works such as  Lerner and Loewe’s “Almost Like Being in Love,” and Kirby Shaw’s arrangement of “A Sunday Kind of Love,” to settings of “O Sacrum Convivium” and “Irish Lullaby.”

Preschool open house Sunday

The Little Gorillas Preschool is holding an open housing from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 11, in the Family and Consumer Sciences building. Food, culture fair Saturday

The International Student Association and the International Programs and Services Office are holding the Food and Culture Fair from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at Memorial Auditorium. The cost is $1. Children under 12 are free. Tickets for food are purchased separately and are $1-1.50. Tickets are available at the door. Karaoke Thursday

Gorillas in Your Midst is having a karaoke night 8-10 p.m. Thursday, March 8, in the U-Club in the Overman Student Center. There will be refreshments and giveaways.

Art exhibits on display

The art exhibit “Growing Up” by Jessica Gardner will be shown from Thursday, March 15 to Friday, May 4, in the Harry Krug Gallery in Porter Hall. There will be a lecture on the exhibit at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 15, in 409 Russ Hall with a reception following at 5 p.m. The gallery is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
