Clothing giveaway Saturday
The Zion Lutheran Church will hold a “Community Clothing Give-Away” from 8 a.m. to noon  p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at 102 W. Jackson. A variety of used and new clothes for all ages will be available, as will a limited supply of bags, games, household items and other miscellaneous items.

Yoga Mondays, Wednesdays
Yoga for Balance and Stress Relief will resume for the school year. Sessions will be at 5 p.m. every Monday and Wednesday and will be taught by Joy Reed. All sessions are free to PSU students and staff with no registration required.

Recycling center plans membership meeting
Southeast Kansas Recycling Inc. plans to elect new board members during its annual membership meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, in Room 102 of PSU’s Yates Hall.
The meeting is open to the public, as well as current members of the recycling center. Other topics of discussion include reports on current operations and planned activities.
Southeast Kansas Recycling is a non-profit organization that promotes and encourages recycling. For more information, call operations director Chuck Delp at 231-8930 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.

Intramural tourneys slated Intramural Sports is organizing a sand volleyball league and a 3-on-3 basketball tournament. Entry deadline is Sunday, Aug. 28. There will be a managers meeting for both events on Friday, Sept. 2. Volleyball matches will begin Wednesday, Sept. 2, and basketball games will begin Tuesday, Sept. 6. Parking enforcement
Beginning Thursday, Aug. 25, all campus parking zones will be regularly enforced and violators of parking policy will be issued a ticket.

French meeting Wednesdays
The French table will meet at noon every Wednesday from Aug. 31 until Nov. 30 in Gorilla Crossing in the basement of the Overman Student Center. The table is open for native French speakers, those in a French class or anyone interested in listening to a conversation in French.

Theater auditions
The PSU Theater will hold open auditions for its fall production, “Madwoman of Chaillot” at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, and 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, in the PSU Studio Theater. All students, staff and residents are invited. Audition packets are available in 110 Grubbs Hall and will also be available at auditions. For more information, call Gil Cooper at 235-4714.

Art picnic Friday
The University Art Association will hold a potluck and a meet and greet at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, outside the south entrance of Porter Hall.

Self-defense class Saturday
Pittsburg Parks and Recreation is offering a women’s self-defense class from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 27, at the Lincoln Center. A fee of $50 is required to take the class. For more information, call Pittsburg Parks and Recreation at 231-8310.

Karaoke night Friday
Gorillas in Your Midst will hold a karaoke night from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, in the U-Club in the Overman Student Center. There will be free refreshments and giveaways.
