PSU theater stages tragic play
Megan Westoff, communication instructor, directs the Pittsburg State University Theater’s production of The Water’s Edge, playing at the PSU Studio Theater in Grubbs Hall. The play opens Thursday, March 3, through Sunday, March 6. PSU students Jeanine Kunshek, Megan McCoy, Kristy Magee and Austin Curtright make up the cast of this family drama, along with Pittsburg resident John Mazurek.
The play follows the story of a family torn apart by tragedy when a 4-year-old drowns while under her father’s watch. Distraught with grief, the father (Mazurek) leaves his wife (Magee) and remaining children (Curtright and McCoy) for 17 years, only to return with a new girlfriend (Kunshek). The following angst and torment raises the question: Can time and grief heal all wounds?
Tickets are $9 for the general public and $5 for youth and seniors. PSU students and staff receive free tickets with a PSU photo ID. Tickets are available through the PSU Ticket Office or at the door.
